Russia threatens to reduce decision-making time on the use of nuclear weapons: what is happening

The occupying country may shorten the decision-making time for the use of nuclear weapons, as stipulated by the official doctrine of the Russian Federation. This may happen if Moscow thinks that "threats are growing".

Reuters reports this, citing the words of the chairman of the Russian State Duma Defense Committee, Andrei Kartapolov. It is worth noting that the dictator and Kremlin officials have been actively spreading nuclear threats lately.

"If we see that the challenges and threats are growing, it means that we can fix something about the timing of the use of nuclear weapons and the decision to use them," Kartapolov said.

Journalists remind that Russian aggression against Ukraine has provoked the biggest confrontation between Russia and the West since the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962. In May, Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin said that Russia could change its official nuclear doctrine and the conditions under which such weapons could be used.

Russia's 2020 nuclear doctrine states that the Kremlin dictator may declare the use of nuclear weapons in response to an attack using weapons of mass destruction or conventional weapons "when the very existence of the state is threatened." Currently, the Russian Federation is the largest nuclear power in the world, and together with the United States, they hold 88% of the world's nuclear weapons stockpile.

To recap, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksandr Lytvynenko said that if the Russian occupation army fails in the war against Ukraine, dictator Vladimir Putin may order the use of nuclear weapons. In this case, it may be tactical nuclear weapons directed against Ukraine.

Earlier it was reported that at a meeting with propagandists on June 5, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin once again threatened to use nuclear weapons and called on the West "not to take the nuclear doctrine of the aggressor country lightly."
