On the evening of July 11, during another Russian drone strike on Ukraine, one of the enemy's Shahed-136s flew over the territory of Belarus. The Belarusian army knew about it because its Mi-24 helicopter and fighter jet were "monitoring" the Russian attack on Ukraine.

According to the Belaruski Gayun project, the kamikaze drone of the Russian occupation forces stayed in the airspace of Belarus for at least one hour. It was near the border of the Gomel region.

"Shahed" (Russian version of the name – "Geranium") flew into Belarus across the border with the Chernihiv region of Ukraine, near the Belarusian village of Loev. It then moved toward Mozyr, turned to the Khoinikov area, and exited the airspace of Belarus for the Kyiv region over the Polissia Radiation and Ecological Reserve.

Approximate route of Shahed-136

Monitoring channels reported the Shahed over Belarus around 20:30 on Thursday, July 11. However, at the time of the first information about it, a Mi-24 helicopter of the Belarusian Air Force, which took off for the Gomel region from the Machulishchi airfield around 19:00, and a fighter jet from Baranovichi, which took off even earlier – around 18:30, had been over the Gomel region for more than an hour.

This indicates at least that the Belarusian air defense recorded the arrival of the kamikaze drone in Belarus long before the information about it appeared in Telegram channels, and the drone itself entered earlier – around 19:00. Moreover, at the time of the first public reports, the Belarusian Air Force fighter took off from the Gomel district, and later a Belarusian Air Force helicopter flew to Machulishcha.

"It is possible that the Belarusian troops were aware of the upcoming maneuvers and controlled the airspace over the territory of Belarus in case of unplanned behavior of one of the Shaheds," suggested the analysts of the Belaruski Gayun project.
