Shoals in the middle of the Dnipro River

The water level in the Dnipro in Kyiv was very low in the 1970s. As a result, large shoals could be seen between the islands located between the left and right banks of the city.

The old photos were published on the kyivkk Telegram channel. You can see what this location looked like 50 years ago.

"The Dnipro River near the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. 1970s," the post reads.

The photo posted on the social network shows that there used to be large shoals on the river between the islands that were overgrown with grass even in summer. Nowadays, they are almost invisible regardless of water level.
