Ukraine's national futsal team won the third place at the World Cup in Uzbekistan. Oleksandr Kosenko's team beat France 7-1 in the bronze medal match at the Humo Arena in Tashkent.

At first, the match was not easy for our compatriots. The opponent was often characterized by rude actions, disrupting our attacks by breaking the rules. The situation changed only in the 11th minute, when Igor Chernyavsky opened the scoring.

After the break, the French rushed to win back the game, reaching the free kick and shooting three times at our goal. However, in the end, they conceded the second goal after a perfect combination of Abakshin - Semenchenko - Zvarych.

A minute later, France scored one goal, but failed to create a breakthrough. Yevhen Zhuk demonstrated excellent individual performance, scoring the third goal, and a minute later the fourth.

After that, Rafael Reynaud decided to take a risk by releasing a fifth field player instead of the goalkeeper. As a result, the Yellow and Blues punished the opponent three times, scoring into an empty net.

This was the first medal in the history of Ukraine at the Futsal World Cup. Before that, the best achievement was 4th place in 1996.

As OBOZ.UA reported, a few days ago the Ukrainians lost to Brazil in a dramatic semifinal (2-3).

In the 1/4 finals, the Yellow and Blues defeated the main sensation of the tournament, Venezuela, 9-4. The last time Ukraine played in the 1/2 finals of the World Cup was in 1996.

On September 24, in the 1/8 finals, the Ukrainians were stronger than the Netherlands - 3:1.
