Tourist destinations in Brazil

The country of incendiary dances is increasingly attracting tourists. Travelers who have already had enough of traveling around Europe and want something new head here.

What is worth visiting in Brazil? Let's find out!

Rio de Janeiro

The former capital of Brazil boasts many attractions. The most famous of them is the statue of Christ the Savior, located on Corcovado Mountain. This monument is considered a symbol of Brazil and is included in the list of the 7 New Wonders of the World.

There are three ways to get to the masterpiece: by car, by rail, and on foot. The latter option is for real daredevils who are not afraid of either leg pain or heat. On the way back, we recommend visiting the Museum of Naïve Art and wandering through the Tijuca forest.

While walking around the city, visit the famous Maracana Stadium, which seats over 200,000 fans. Go to the Botanical Garden, where about 7,000 plants from all over the world are collected. And don't miss the main exhibition hall dedicated to national history.

And if you want to meet a Hollywood star, be sure to walk along the beaches of Ipanema and Copacabana. Celebrities often vacation here.

Amazon

When planning a trip to Brazil, you should include the "lungs of the planet" in your itinerary. This is the name given to the wild jungle, which is studied by scientists by only 30%. It is home to thousands of birds, animals, insects, and fish. It is dangerous to walk around this place on your own, so it is better to order a guide or sign up for a group tour.

Be sure to walk to Iguazu Falls, which is 72 meters high. It can be heard from several miles away. It is also very beautiful. Tourists enjoy water drops spraying on them.

São Paulo

It is here that the famous Brazilian Carnival is held, which gathers thousands of people in the central streets annually. Preparation for it lasts a whole year, and the date is determined in advance. It is always different, but the festival always takes place in February.

In addition to the festival, there is a lot of entertainment. Visit the Paulista Museum, where you can learn about the history of the country. Go to the immigrant memorial, which shows the life of people who came here from distant lands. Check out the Image and Sound Exhibition Hall, walk to the Glass House, and take a stroll through the huge Jardim da Luz Park. The nature reserve is home to incredibly beautiful sculptures and precious woods.

Ouro Preto

This picturesque town used to be very popular. During the XVII-XVIII centuries, precious metals were mined here. During this period, Ouro Preto flourished. But, as you know, nothing lasts forever. Thus, with the end of the "gold rush", the settlement became sharply impoverished.

However, tourists often come here even now. They are attracted by the architectural masterpieces of the colonial baroque. By the way, they are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Brasilia

The capital is always in the spotlight. The city was built quite recently. It was planned and built in 1956. Therefore, you won't find any historical monuments here. However, you will see an ideal technopolis for humans.

Brasilia is made in the shape of an airplane, with the "fuselage" occupying Three Powers Square, the "wings" being residential neighborhoods, and the "nose" housing the residence of the President of the Republic.

We recommend visiting the Botanical Gardens, the Cathedral, and the widest street in the world, the Monumental Axis. Walk across the Juscelino Kubitschek Bridge, which is illuminated by thousands of lights at night. Be sure to go down into the subway. It is very similar to London's King's Cross station.
