You can find a hut on Andriivskyi Descent in Kyiv that has been standing there for 150 years. The building, which has survived to this day, can even be seen in archival photographs.

The photos and the story were published in the community "Native Kyivan Club" on Facebook. A restaurant has now been opened in the building.

"Walking along Andriivskyi Descent, pay attention to the house on the corner. It's hard to believe, but this is the oldest building on this street (except for the church itself). It's not clear how, but this simple house has been standing for 150 years and I hope it will continue to do so. So many magnificent buildings have been built, so many masterpieces have been demolished, and this house stands there for so long," the community said.

It is noted that people used to live in this house, but later it was turned into a restaurant. The author of the post suggested that perhaps the reason why the building has survived to this day is that it is located in a not-very-convenient place on a corner.

"Or maybe we were just lucky. I wonder if the owners know the history of this house?" the community summarized.

As a reminder, Dmytrivska Street in Kyiv under its current name was laid out between 1838 and 1849. Throughout the years, its appearance has been constantly changing, and the houses that were built at the beginning of its existence are no longer there. In addition, it left its mark on the history of the city as it was part of the legendary Yevbaz, and a "bosiatskyi store" (stiff store) used to operate here.

As OBOZ.UA reported, until September 1941, Khreshchatyk Street in Kyiv looked completely different, with incredible architecture of hotels and theaters. There even were a circus and a tram. Unfortunately, after the center was blown up by Soviet partisans, the beauty of the city remained only in archival photos.
