Jar Jar Binks is a kind, naive, and completely clumsy Gungan who became the main comic character in the Star Wars prequel trilogy. He was portrayed on screen by American actor Ahmed Best. The movie Star Wars: Episode 1: The Phantom Menace, released in 1999, was a huge success, as evidenced by the billion-dollar box office. Jar Jar Binks, on the other hand, was harshly criticized by film critics and audiences. Nevertheless, many fans of the cult franchise loved him. So when Best hinted at the return of his character, moviegoers were delighted.

The actor posted an intriguing photo on his Instagram with an equally intriguing caption. Fans believe that this was Ahmed Best's way of announcing the epic return of his iconic character.

Thus, the 50-year-old actor posted a selfie from the set. He is wearing a motion-sensing suit that is used for further special effects.

Best wrote under the picture: "Just when I thought I was out of the game, I'm being pulled back in again."

Fans in the comments are no exaggeration in their excitement, suggesting that they will soon see their favorite on screen again. They write: "Is this what I think it is? Interestingly, one of the most popular hashtags under the photo was "Lord of the Sith." This hints at a long-standing fan theory that the character had become Darth Jar Jar. Evidence claimed that the Gungan somehow survived the Battle of Naboo and eventually helped Palpatine gain his extraordinary powers before becoming Emperor.

It should be added that Jar Jar Binks' character has indeed received a lot of criticism from movie experts and some fans. This was due, in part, to the fact that viewers did not appreciate the alien's excessive comic relief. Binks became a "symbol" of what most reviewers called the film's creative flaw. The character was often ridiculed by people who believed that Jar Jar was included in the trilogy solely to attract the attention of children's audiences.

In 2018, Ahmed Best admitted that he almost committed suicide after all this backlash, and was saved from doing so by fans and colleagues who sent him countless messages of support.
