Poles block all checkpoints for truck entrance on the border with Ukraine: there are huge queues
Four checkpoints on the Ukrainian-Polish border are blocked. More than 4,000 vehicles are queuing up; efforts to unblock them are ongoing, while civilian traffic continues to move.
As of the morning, four directions on the Ukrainian border with Poland are blocked: the checkpoints of Rava-Ruska, Krakovets, Yagodin and Shehyni. This was stated by the spokesman for the State Border Guard Service Andrii Demchenko, UNN reports.
According to him, the work to unblock the direction of movement along the entire section of the border with Poland is ongoing. According to Polish border guards, more than 4,000 cars, both trucks and vehicles, are queuing in the direction of the border with Ukraine.
"There is traffic both in the direction of Poland and Ukraine, but it is much less than it was before November 6 when the blockade began. For example, 1,200-1,500 trucks crossed the border at Yahodin in both directions, while now about 120-150 trucks cross the border in both directions," Demchenko said.
According to the State Border Guard Service, traffic for civilians, cars and buses is not hampered either when leaving or entering Ukraine. At the moment, the number of border crossings has increased significantly. Yesterday, for example, 120 thousand vehicles and citizens crossed the border in both directions.
Meanwhile, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has promised that when he heads the country's government again, the problem of blocking the border with Ukraine will be solved by the Poles themselves. However, he did not name any specific steps to achieve this.
