Musk has implanted a chip in the human brain for the first time: what will it do
The world's first person received an implant from a brain chip startup developed by Neuralink, co-founded by American billionaire Elon Musk. It is designed to enable people with paralysis of all limbs to control devices with their thoughts.
Musk announced this on X. According to him, the performance of the device looks encouraging.

Reuters added that last year, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration allowed the company to conduct the first human trial of the implant.
The study by Neuralink is a test of its wireless brain-computer interface to assess the safety of the implant and surgical robot.
According to the company's website, the study will evaluate the functionality of the interface, which allows people with tetraplegia (paralysis of all four limbs) to control devices with their thoughts.
The company started recruiting volunteers for clinical trials on implantation of brain implants in September 2023.
