Maguchikh wins the tournament in the USA with a record
Famous Ukrainian high jumper Yaroslava Maguchikh has won her second consecutive international tournament. The 22-year-old from Dnipro took first place at the Millrose Games in New York, USA.
Our compatriot missed the first two heights, deciding to compete from 1.90 meters. At this level, two out of four competitors were eliminated, and Yaroslava competed only with local athlete Vashti Cunningham.
In the end, the American stopped at a height of 1.97 meters, and Jaroslawa continued to storm the marks, taking 2.00 on the third time, which became the tournament record. The previous achievement (1.97) was set in 1989.
Maguchikh also tried to jump 2.05, but all three attempts were unsuccessful.

In January 31, Jaroslawa Maguchikh won her first competition in 2024, becoming the first at the World Athletics Indoor Tour tournament in Kottbus, Germany.
