President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky says he is confident that the US Congress will make a positive decision on allocating $50 billion in aid to the country. The decision is expected to be made in a month.

"There is hope for the Congress. I am sure it will be positive. Otherwise, I don't understand what kind of world we are starting to live in. It's definitely not the same. They know we need money within a month. I met with senators, with both parties... We need a decision within a month. They also know our request for air defense. If we talk about it, let's talk about our vision today. This money mostly remains in the United States in those companies that are manufacturers," the president said during his press conference on February 25.

It is worth noting that Zelensky held a meeting with delegations from the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives on February 17 on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference. At the meeting, the parties discussed Ukraine's priority defense needs. In particular, they talked about additional artillery systems, shells, long-range weapons, electronic warfare, and strengthening air defense.

The U.S. House of Representatives adjourned without considering the bill on assistance to Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan. American lawmakers will return to work on February 28.

As you know, on February 13, the US Senate supported a bill that provides a total of $95.3 billion in aid to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan. Of this amount, $60 billion should go to Ukraine. However, the Senate's decision is not enough to allocate the money - the bill must pass the House of Representatives.

To recap, the $60 billion for Ukraine includes:

- $19.85 billion for U.S. weapons and equipment provided to Ukraine from the Pentagon's stockpile;

- $13.8 billion for the purchase of weapons and ammunition from the US defense industrial base;

- $14.8 billion for continued training of the Ukrainian military, intelligence sharing and other support measures;

- $7.85 billion for direct budget support to Ukraine;

- $1.58 billion to support the development of the Ukrainian economy in priority sectors.

As reported by OBOZ.UA:

- A bipartisan group of American lawmakers has submitted another bill to help Ukraine. The authors made proposals to protect the US borders, but removed the humanitarian component, leaving funding only for military assistance to Ukraine and Israel.

- The Pentagon promised that they would be able to send new aid packages to Ukraine in a short time as soon as the US Congress passes the bill. The Defense Department will need only a few days to do so.
