How to water cucumbers: the harvest will be like never before

Cucumbers are popular but rather whimsical crops. It takes a lot of effort to get the plants to take root well and produce a quality crop. Cucumbers are heat-loving vegetables that require a sufficient amount of light and moisture, so the place in the garden should be open, but protected from drafts.

OBOZ.UA tells you how to water cucumbers to improve the harvest. These vegetables can stop growing at any time. Failure to comply with the watering regime, drafts, and sudden temperature changes harm plant development.

Proper care primarily includes watering and fertilizing. To prevent the appearance of diseases and rot, the first feeding should be carried out 15-20 days after the appearance of cotyledon leaves.

In the first phase of growth, cucumbers need nitrogen. A fertilizer based on liquid compost will come in handy. It is easy to prepare.

1. Take a large barrel and tamp it with green grass.
2. Pour water over the herbs and leave them to ferment for 7-10 days.
3. After the fermentation process, the concentrate should be diluted in the proportion of 1 liter of fertilizer per bucket of water. Watering should be done at the rate of 1 liter of the solution under the bush.

Organic fertilization is recommended every 10 days on moist soil.

Three weeks after the cotyledon leaves appear, when the plant already has 2-3 true leaves, it should be treated against fungal diseases.

Experts advise using whey in the ratio of 3 liters of whey to 3 liters of warm water. To further stimulate growth and fruiting, add iodine to the solution. For 6 liters of liquid, you will need 12 drops of pharmacy iodine. Spray the leaves generously with this mixture. It is best to do this in the evening so that the solution stays on the leaves longer.

Experienced gardeners emphasize that not all places in the garden are suitable for growing cucumbers.
