Every user of modern technology sooner or later faces the fact that the memory in their smartphone is running out. This can be understood by the fact that the device starts to work much slower and messages about the need to clear the storage appear on the display.

The iTechua article describes ways to solve this problem. Following the detailed instructions, you can do it yourself.

First, let's figure out what we're going to clear. There are two types of memory in the phone. Permanent (ROM) and RAM.

Permanent is the storage inside the phone and memory card. It stores media files, i.e. photos, videos, etc. Roughly speaking, it is the same as a hard disk on a computer.

The RAM is where all the files that are working right now go. That is, if you are editing a text document, it is first located in RAM and only after saving it goes to ROM.

Despite the differences between these two types of memory, you can run out of space everywhere. If you install a lot of apps on your phone and open many of them at the same time, the RAM gets clogged. And if you take an infinite number of photos, download movies, and don't delete them after watching them, you use up the space from the permanent memory.

If your phone starts running out of space, it's important to clear the memory properly. Otherwise, for example, you can delete a bunch of photos, but the memory will still be too small because of the large number of temporary files in RAM.

The simplest algorithm for deleting temporary files is as follows:

  • Press the menu key or the button that opens all active and open applications in the form of tiles;
  • A cross or broom will appear at the bottom or top;
  • Click on them and the system will close all applications running in the background.

If this doesn't help speed up your smartphone to the fullest, then you should move on to uninstalling apps. Usually, users delete them by simply moving them to the trash. But there is a more efficient way.

  • Go to the "settings" of your smartphone;
  • Find the tab "applications\applications", enter it. Now you need to open the "all apps" item;
  • Find the program you want to uninstall.
  • Go to it. Scroll down the list to the "uninstall" and "clean" items;
  • Go to "clear", and alternately click on "clear cache" and "delete data". Some phones have a "clear all" option;
  • Go back, and click the "delete" button.

This will not only delete the unnecessary program from the storage but also clean the RAM from the garbage left by the application at the same time.

Finally, you can use a special program to clean up the memory. Such programs work not only with system files but also with various data stored in the cache.

It is very easy to install such a program through the Google Play app store. After launching it, it will show the amount of garbage files in RAM and ROM. It will also display the amount of space that can be freed up. Check the boxes on the right side, opposite the "files and folders" items, and click on the "clean" button.

After that, the system will delete all unnecessary files, data, and records, so you can enjoy the speed of your smartphone.
