Europe's most miserable country in 2023 has been named

Anna KravchukNews
The most unhappy country in Europe has been named

Every year, Eurostat conducts a study to determine the most unhappy country in Europe. For the second year in a row, Bulgaria has been awarded this status.

It is the only country in Europe with a satisfaction index of less than six. This information was published by Metro magazine.

During the year, Eurostat asked Europeans to rate their life satisfaction on a scale from 0 (very dissatisfied) to 10 (very satisfied). The average level of satisfaction among representatives of different countries was above 6. However, only in Bulgaria was this figure lower – 5.6 out of 10.

Although Bulgaria is popular among tourists for its ski resorts, hot springs, beautiful Black Sea beaches, and cheap beer, Bulgarians themselves are apparently dissatisfied with their standard of living.

However, as the source notes, "not everything is so gloomy." Bulgaria has a rich history. It is known for its monasteries, mountains, and even wine. The country's capital, Sofia, boasts monuments dating back more than 2000 years.
