A 400-kilometer range and $9,000: Chery's new electric car for the city

The 2024 Chery eQ1 city electric car was declassified officially shortly before the start of sales. The car for 9000 dollars turned out to be compact, but long-range and quite practical.

This is a restyled version of a known model. The exterior has changed after the update, CarNewsChina reports. However, the new Chery eQ1 still looks like any other Chinese electric car for the city.

The front end has changed, as there are new headlights and a different bumper. It is reported that the taillights have also been replaced. In general, the body is still similar to Smart models.

The length is 3200 mm with a wheelbase of 2150 mm, width is 1670 mm and height is 1550 mm. Such a compact car managed to accommodate four seats.

Features include a digital instrument cluster, touchscreen infotainment system, wireless smartphone charging and two USB ports.

The Chery eQ1 electric car is powered by a choice of 41 or 75-hp motor. There are two battery packs, too. The battery capacity of 25 kWh provides 250 km of range, while the block of 40 kWh can reach more than 400 km.
