Three things you should never put in the dishwasher: you'll regret it
The advent of dishwashers changed the rules of the game in the kitchen. Even those who hated cooking because of the need to wash a mountain of dishes afterwards began to experiment at least occasionally on their own. Or more often to organize dinners for guests - the machine will wash the dirty dishes anyway.
However, even such a brilliant invention has its limitations, and some items should not be put in the dishwasher. Not all dishes can withstand strong water pressure and high temperatures. OBOZ.UA tells you which items we are talking about.
Chef's knives
A good knife with a sharp blade and a balanced handle that fits comfortably in your hand is worth its weight in gold. It should be treated accordingly and washed by hand. Machine care can not only dull the blade of a chef's knife, but also provoke the appearance of rust. At the same time, there is a risk that the knife may damage the plastic coating of the dishwasher shelves or other parts during washing.
Wooden utensils
Chopping boards, spoons and spatulas made of wood are not machine washable. High temperatures and moisture destroy the natural material. Wooden items will warp and crack from such treatment. It is better to wash this type of cookware by hand and dry it immediately. Then it will last longer.
Cookware made of epoxy resin
The qualities of epoxy resin make it possible to make very beautiful utensils from it, such as cutting boards with pieces of natural wood inside or bowls with a beautiful effect of transition between several colors. But such items should only be washed by hand in warm, soapy water. The high temperature in the dishwasher can damage and deform the epoxy resin. You will not be able to restore such an item.
