Plant in January: how to grow eggplant seedlings
Eggplant is a perennial herbaceous plant in the Solanaceae family, which also includes potatoes, tomatoes, and peppers. The vegetable is whimsical to grow, so you need to make a lot of effort to make the seedlings strong and bear fruit well.
OBOZ.UA has found useful tips to help you grow eggplant seedlings in January. Seeds germinate slowly, it can even take a month, so be patient and create favorable conditions for the crop.
Temperature plays an important role in growing. It should be at least +25 degrees Celsius. If you want to accelerate the growth process, then untreated seeds should be soaked in a one percent potassium permanganate solution for 15-20 minutes. Then rinse them under running water.
You can also use aloe juice, which will have a positive effect on the growth and development of seedlings.
Prepare clean plastic cups or small pots. Fill them with a nutritious soil mixture: you can buy it in the store or make it yourself. To do this, mix humus or compost with soil in a 3:2 ratio.
Place the seeds in the ground to a depth of 0.5 mm, cover the containers with plastic wrap, and place them in a warm place. After 3 days, spray the soil with water at room temperature. As soon as you see the first sprouts, remove the film, and move the pots to a bright place where the temperature is at least +15 degrees Celsius.
Water the seedlings once a week.
