Must do in every home: how to clean the faucet inside from limescale
Hard tap water leads not only to ugly lime stains on faucets, but also to limescale build-up inside the plumbing. Over time, this can lead to a malfunction of the device and even its breakdown. But it is possible to clean the faucet from the inside.
Experts say that the problem can be solved by the same white vinegar that cleans the taps from the outside. OBOZ.UA tells you how to do it.
You need to start deep cleaning by shutting off the water, because the faucet will have to be removed completely. After that, the item will need to be disassembled according to the instructions for your model.
Brush off all the plaque that can be removed mechanically, and then immerse all the parts in vinegar. Since the scale inside will be quite dense, this soaking should last at least several hours. Ideally, overnight. The more scale on the faucet, the longer it needs to stay in the vinegar.
In the morning, when the vinegar weakens the lime structure, you will need to repeat the mechanical cleaning. To do this, all parts will need to be brushed again. Small depressions and crevices can be cleaned with a toothpick.
Before installation, the faucet will need to be rinsed in water. It is better to collect it in advance, because its supply will be cut off during cleaning. The cleaned device will remain to be assembled and reinstalled. After that, turn on the water again and run an additional stream of tap water through the mechanism to get rid of the residual vinegar odor.
