How to clean windows without chemicals

Windows get dirty quickly. Dust and dirt settle on the surface, and streaks and stains remain after washing.

Experts have advised how to clean windows perfectly without chemicals. White vinegar is often used to clean windows because it quickly and effectively breaks down any residue on the glass. The Express newspaper talked about some of the nuances of home cleaning.

Laura Harnett, founder of Seep eco-cleaning tools, explained how to clean windows without using harsh chemicals and prevent streaks.

You will need:

  • white vinegar
  • a bottle with a sprayer
  • warm water
  • dishwashing detergent
  • soft brush
  • sponge
  • cloth

The first step is to get rid of the mold. The fungus is caused by temperature differences, improper insulation, or even poorly installed windows. Wipe the window sills and frames with a paper towel. Pour white vinegar into a spray bottle and treat the affected areas. Leave the vinegar on for an hour and then go over the surface with a soft brush.

The next step is to clean the frames. Wash the window frames with warm water and detergent. It is important not to wash the windows with foam as it can leave marks. A brush will also help clean the seams from dirt.

The expert recommends washing glass with a solution of vinegar and water in a 1:1 ratio. Spray the product on the window and then wipe the glass with a microfiber cloth.

By the way, if you are prone to allergies, you can try an eco-friendly and absolutely safe life hack for mold. Pour a glass of water into a spray bottle and add 1 teaspoon of tea tree oil. After spraying on the stains, wait 10-15 minutes and wipe the windows with a dry cloth. Read more about safe mold remedies in the article.
