How to care for a Christmas tree

Most owners have already set up their Christmas tree before St. Nicholas Day, which is celebrated on December 6. But there is a lot of time left before the next New Year's holidays and the tree may lose its attractive and fresh look.

OBOZ.UA has collected useful tips to help keep the Christmas tree in good condition. You don't need to put a lot of effort and time into it.

A healthy tree

The best way to keep the Christmas tree fresh throughout the New Year holidays is to buy a healthy tree right away. Pay attention to the branches: if you run your hand over them and the needles start to crumble, it's a sign of aging.

The trunk

Before setting up the Christmas tree, trim the trunk so that the tree can absorb water better. Do not forget to water the tree regularly because it can drink up to several liters of water in the first couple of weeks.

Heat and light

Do not place the Christmas tree near heat sources, such as a fireplace or radiators, as this will dry out the tree faster. Choosing such a place also puts you in danger by violating fire safety rules.

Place the Christmas tree in a bright place where it will receive enough sunlight every day.

LED lights

There is probably not a single Christmas tree that is not decorated with garlands of lights. Conventional lighting generates a lot of heat, which affects the drying process of the tree. Therefore, choose LED lights. They are more efficient and illuminate the tree with a pleasant, "soft" color.
