What to cook for a snack in 15 minutes: you will need pita bread

For a hearty and quick snack, pita bread is perfect. You just need to wrap a delicious filling in it and fry everything on the grill or in a frying pan. It will take a maximum of 15 minutes.

The idea of preparing a hearty pita bread snack was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Veronika Shpak (b_nikochka). It turns out to be a quick alternative to shawarma.

Ingredients:

  • corn pita bread with a diameter of 25 cm - 2 pcs.
  • chicken breast - 300 g
  • bell pepper - 1 pc.
  • onion - 1 pc.
  • cheese - 150 g
  • paprika - 1 tsp.
  • a pinch of salt

Method of preparation:

1. Finely dice the bell pepper and onion.

2. Cut the chicken fillet into small pieces and fry in sunflower oil until tender (over high heat).

3. Add spices, paprika and salt, mix well.

4. Put the fillet on a plate and fry the onion and bell pepper in the same pan for about 5 minutes over medium heat. During this time, you can grate the cheese.

5. Add the chicken to the vegetables and fry together for another 2 minutes.

6. Put the filling on half of the pita bread and sprinkle with cheese, close.

7. Fry on the grill or in a frying pan on both sides until golden brown for 2-3 minutes.

Prepare a sauce, if desired:

Mix sour cream (3 tbsp), herbs (dill or parsley), garlic (1 clove) and a little salt.
