What to do to keep baked goods from burning in a gas oven: simple tips
A gas stove is a real lifesaver during power outages. However, when it comes to baking, it doesn't always turn out perfectly: the bottom burns and the top remains raw.
Therefore, in order to avoid such troubles, FoodOboz has prepared for you some useful life hacks that will help you evenly distribute the temperature in a gas oven.
Container with water
If you put a large container of water under the baking tray, the food will bake evenly as the water will take away excess fat and the baking will be perfect. You just need to keep an eye on the level of the liquid so that it doesn't boil off completely.
Salt
This technique is used to ensure that the oven heats up evenly. You need to take a baking tray, pour a thick layer of salt into it, and put it in the oven on the bottom layer. This salt can be reused many times.
Foil on the top of the baking dish
It often happens that the bottom of the pastry is burnt. This can be easily fixed. Put the baking tray on a sufficiently high level of the oven and cover the top with foil.
Two baking trays
This technology ensures that your baked goods are baked evenly and do not burn. Simply place another empty baking tray under the cake or other product.
Old frying pan
An old, thick-bottomed pan can absorb excess fat. Simply place it on the bottom of the oven and put the baked goods on a higher level. At the same time, you can pour water into the pan or add salt.
Brick
Baked goods will not burn and become blackened if you place 2 refractory bricks on the bottom of the oven. This method is suitable for gas ovens.
