Cherry galette in 20 minutes: egg- and oil-free dough recipe
Galette is one of the simplest cakes that can be made with both savoury and sweet fillings. It should be noted that the most important thing in baking is the dough, which should ideally be crisp and crumbly.
On her Instagram page, food blogger Victoriia with the nickname vika_tasty shared a recipe for a cherry biscuit dough made without eggs, oil or dairy products.
Ingredients:
Dough:
- flour - 250 g
- cold water - 125 ml
- vegetable oil - 6,5 tbsp.
- sugar - 3 tbsp.
- salt - 0,5 tsp.
- baking powder - 1.5 tsp.
Stuffing:
- cherries - 400 g
- starch - 2 tsp.
- sugar - 2-3 tbsp.
- egg for greasing
Method of preparation:
1. To prepare the dough you need to mix water and vegetable oil. Separately mix together the dry ingredients. Now mix the two together and knead the dough. Cover with a towel and leave to rise for 20 minutes.
2 Meanwhile, prepare the filling. Remove the pips from the cherries, then mix the berries with the sugar and starch.
3 At this point, divide the dough into 2 parts. Roll out one of them thinly into a circle (it is best to do this on parchment).
4. Place the filling in the middle of the dough, just short of the sides. Roll these sides inwards so that the filling is visible.
5. Brush the dough with egg. Bake at 200 degrees for 20 minutes. Done!
