J-Hope, a member of BTS, finished his service in the South Korean army

A member of the South Korean band BTS, 30-year-old J-Hope (real name: Jong Hoseok), has completed his military service after 18 months in the army. The singer became the second among his bandmates to be demobilized. In June of this year, the oldest member of the group, 31-year-old Jin, returned from service.

Dressed in a military uniform and a black beret, J-Hope smiled as he greeted Jin and about 100 fans and journalists who met him near a military base in Wonju, Gangwon Province. This was reported by Reuters.

"Thanks to the fans, I was able to finish it (service – Ed.) safely, and in good health," Hosok told the audience. "For the past year and a half, I have felt that many soldiers work hard and do so much to protect the country. The artist called on the public to show interest and love for those who serve in the army.

On the occasion of his homecoming, the star held a live broadcast to chat with fans. J-Hope appeared in front of the camera in a room decorated with balloons and decorations. Without taking off his uniform, he addressed the audience with his traditional greeting. A cake and bouquets of flowers could be seen in front of the artist.

In 2022, six members of BTS were mobilized. According to South Korean law, all male citizens between the ages of 18 and 28 must serve in the army for two years. The only exceptions are Olympic champions and "idols" – famous musicians and dancers. Nevertheless, all members of the popular band have expressed their intention to serve.

The oldest member, Jin, completed his service this summer. Four other stars – Kim Namjoon, Park Jimin, Kim Taehyung, and Jung Chunguk – began their service in December 2023. BTS is expected to reunite in 2025 after they have all completed their military duty.
