Roger, a friend of late One Direction singer Liam Payne, who died on the night of October 16 as a result of a fall from the third floor of a hotel, testified that the artist was "happy" and "perfectly balanced" an hour before his tragic death. However, the examination reported that the singer was intoxicated and under the influence of drugs in the last minutes of his life.

Roger, an Argentine businessman, has known Liam Payne since 2020. He claims to have spent time with the star a few hours before his death. This was reported by The Daily Star.

The businessman claims that Liam Payne was in "good spirits" during their last meeting. According to him, the lead singer communicated well with other hotel guests shortly before his tragic death. At the same time, the staff had previously reported that before his death, the artist had called the reception and asked where he could buy cocaine and alcohol. When the singer heard a refusal, he began to insult the interlocutor.

Roger denies these statements. He testifies that the artist was in a great mood and having fun, "I'm a very good friend of Liam, and I was with him the day that he passed away. He was in good spirits. He was like talking to 10 or 15 Americans that were here for a wedding. I left like at 4:05, or so, and he was in good spirits. He was perfectly balanced, like talking to everybody, having fun, laughing, so nothing out of the ordinary."

However, the man does not deny that he last saw Liam Payne drunk. Roger claims that he did not abandon his friend in his last hours, "I went to a hotel three times to check on him. During that morning, he seemed tipsy, but nothing out of the ordinary."

As a reminder, Liam Payne died on October 16 as a result of a fall from the third floor of a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is claimed that at the time of his death, the artist was under the influence of hallucinogenic drugs, but there is no confirmation of this so far. According to law enforcement officials, the singer's behavior shortly before the fall was similar to a side effect of a substance called Cristal.
