The secret is out: Danylko confessed why he doesn't take off his black Adidas and wears pink ears at the National Selection
Ukrainian singer and TV presenter Andrii Danylko has finally explained why he wore strange pink Minnie Mouse ears and an Addidas sweatshirt with the logo of Suspilne TV channel to the Eurovision Song Contest 2024. It turned out that the star feels most comfortable in dark clothes, and sportswear is a contrast to the bright brands worn by his character Verka Serduchka.
Danylko needed the ears because the participants were afraid of him, and he tried to take away the seriousness with his strange image. In an interview with Telegraf, the star said that he tried to support the artists, but not to criticize them.
"I have a strange attitude towards me. Either the participants are afraid of me, or they perceive me in some other way. I wanted to remove some seriousness with these ears. For me, this form of judging is outdated - I want to support rather than analyze, criticize, and scandalize. I'm not a scandalous person at all. If I do it, I was put in such circumstances," explained Danylko.
It's not known what attracted more attention: the ears or the vomited Adidas logo. Instead, Danylko chose this sweatshirt because of its comfort and love for the fashion house. It's worth noting that the composer only wears bright, pretentious clothes when performing as Verka Serduchka.
"Serduchka performs on stage, and I am a backstage character. Serdyuchka can be in different bright costumes, in Versace or Dolce & Gabbana. I guess I need this contrast, and I feel comfortable in dark. I love Adidas very much. However, on the air, they stuck the logo on me, which drew even more attention to it," the singer said.
