It has been announced where the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2024 will take place

The equally important international song contest Junior Eurovision 2024 will be held in Spain. This year, the national public broadcaster Radiotelevisión Española (RTVE) will host the show for the first time in history. In 2023, Sandra Valero took 2nd place in the ranking with her song Loviu, representing Spain.

The last time the country won Junior Eurovision was in 2004. This was reported on the Junior Eurovision website.

"Twenty years after their victory at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, we are delighted to finally bring the contest to Spain. We are grateful to RTVE for agreeing to host the 22nd season of the contest, which provides an incredible platform for young artists from across Europe to showcase their talent. We are looking forward to the fiesta that will take place in Spain this year!" said Junior Eurovision's Executive Director Martin Osterdahl.

The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2023 was won by Zoë Closure from France with her song Coeur. However, the specificity of the junior version of the song contest is that it does not necessarily take place in the winning country. French television decided to transfer the right to host this year's contest to Spain, which Spain gladly accepted.

"RTVE welcomes with great enthusiasm the invitation from the European Broadcasting Union to host the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Spain. We are confident that the Spanish public will also welcome this announcement with great enthusiasm and will welcome the Eurovision community with open arms," said Ana Maria Bordas, Head of the Spanish delegation to Junior Eurovision.

The city where the contest will be held and its date will be announced later.
