How to perfectly clean the bathroom faucet: a way to quickly get rid of stains without scratches

Cleaning the bathroom doesn't have to be tedious

The tap water in our taps is saturated with limestone to varying degrees. So it's normal to find unsightly stains on plumbing fixtures, including faucets. You will have to clean them periodically. But there is a whole list of products that will help with this.

Sante Plus has collected several recipes. For all of them, you will need only cheap means at hand.

Aluminium foil

Incredibly, ordinary baking foil can clean the tap without scratching it. Moreover, it will cope not only with limescale, but also with rust stains.

Take a roll of foil and cut off about 10 cm of material. Roll a ball from this sheet, lightly moisten it with water and rub the contaminated areas. Limescale stains will be removed effortlessly, and the faucet will shine again.

White vinegar and lemon juice

Any acids, including those used in cooking, dissolve limescale deposits well. Even lemon juice will do. Simply cut the yellow fruit in half and rub the limescale stains with the slice. Do not be too economical - apply plenty of juice. From time to time, you can cut a slice to refresh the cut.

Lime can also be used to clean lime marks from glass. To enhance the effect, you can sprinkle a pinch of salt on the surface you plan to treat.

Another food acid that fights lime well is vinegar. Take plain white vinegar, apply it to a cloth or cotton pad, and thoroughly treat all the stains. The lime should wash off without a trace.

But these two products can be combined to enhance the effect. To get rid of deposits that accumulate on the shower wall, mix 0.5 litres of white vinegar, 0.5 litres of hot water and the juice of one lemon. Spray this mixture on the soiled areas and leave it on for about 5 minutes. Then wipe the surface with a cloth or sponge.

Baking soda

Plain baking soda is also effective against lime stains. It softens deposits and makes them easier to remove.

To make a cleaning paste, mix 3 or 4 tablespoons of baking soda with 1 tablespoon of water. Apply the mixture to the stains and leave it on for a few minutes, then scrub vigorously with a brush and rinse.

These products will be especially effective when applied to stains that are not yet old. So, regular cleaning with one of them will ensure that your faucets and other plumbing fixtures are always clean and shiny.
