"How to live? Where to get money?" EL Kravchuk talks about the difficult situation of Andriy Danylko and other stars during the war

Famous Ukrainian singer EL Kravchuk said that today artists in Ukraine simply do not have the opportunity to earn fees equal to those before February 24, 2022. In particular, he recalled a recent conversation with his colleague Andriy Danylko. Despite the fact that Verka Serdyuchka, the character he embodies on stage, has tours in America and performs in Europe, Danylko still states that he is in a very difficult situation.

Serdyuchka, like other Ukrainian artists, converts most of the money earned during foreign performances into donations to the Armed Forces and humanitarian aid. EL Kravchuk spoke about this in an interview with Tatiana Goncharova for her YouTube channel of the same name.

"The situation for the artists is very difficult now. I had a call from Danylo in the morning. We were just talking about work. And he said: "Well, how is the work? It's hard now... How do you live? Where to get money?" He gives tours in America to make money for the army, for weapons. And not very many of these concerts, to be honest. But we're talking about all artists. Iryna Bilyk, for example, or me, or Masha Kondratenko. I want to work more, but there is a war in the country, the economy," Kravchuk commented.

The singer of Ukrainian hits of the 90s also emphasized that Ukrainian artists do not give commercial concerts nowadays. Everyone realizes that such events should have charitable purposes.

"They must be humanitarian, they need a purpose. We do something, we raise money for something, we revive something. There will still be times when we will make money, but now it is getting harder every day. I can see that. I don't know what to do about it. But everyone needs to understand that culture is not just a reliable rear, it is the soul. Without it, there will be no motivation, no sense... Concerts are relevant not only on the front line, but also in the rear. It unites people, it is an opportunity to convey something important," Kravchuk believes.

As OBOZ.UA wrote, earlier Verka Serdyuchka organized a patriotic show in New York. As it turned out later, the concert was disrupted. Moreover, the star and her team were a full hour late for their own performance.
