Mike Waltz
Michael George Glenn Waltz is an American politician, a colonel in the United States Army, and future U.S. National Security Advisor in the second Trump administration (2025-2029).

He holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from the Virginia Military Institute. After his studies, he enlisted in the U.S. Army with the rank of second lieutenant.
Waltz is a representative of the Republican Party.
In 2018, he was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives for the first time.
In November 2024, it became known that President-elect Donald Trump intends to appoint Waltz as his national security adviser.
Trump noted that his new advisor is a committed supporter of the "America First" foreign policy and seeks "peace through strength."
Waltz has been active in U.S. security issues, particularly in the context of confronting China. He is one of the harshest critics of China in the Republican Party.
Waltz and UkraineIn 2022, Waltz was in favor of providing Ukraine with more weapons. However, he subsequently changed his position on this issue.
In 2023, Fox News published an article under his authorship where he stated that "the era of blank checks for Ukraine from Congress is over." He also voted against an additional $60 billion in aid to Ukraine in April 2024.
Waltz also expressed doubts about the feasibility of Ukraine joining NATO. In his opinion, Ukraine is currently unable to make a significant contribution to the collective security of the alliance, and inviting Kiev into the alliance could draw the United States into direct conflict with Russia.
