"Lost control": Russian boxer humiliates Usyk's victory over Fury

Subkhankulov praised the rematch between Usyk and Fury

Russian boxer Artur Subkhankulov (6-0, 3 KOs) expressed confidence that Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) underestimated Oleksandr Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) in their first fight on May 18. The representative of the aggressor country noted that he has no doubt that the British heavyweight will win the rematch.

Subkhankulov said this in an interview with allboxing.ru. The welterweight boxer added the absurd idea that Fury controlled the course of the fight against Usyk, but the Ukrainian was allegedly lucky to get to his opponent in the ninth round and shock him.

"In the rematch, Fury should win. It seems to me that in the first fight he frankly underestimated Usyk, that's all. In the first half of the fight, Fury completely controlled the fight, met Usyk with very powerful uppercuts, he shook him up a few times. But Tyson just started to overplay his hand and lost control after he missed an unexpected punch. That's why I would place my bet in favor of Fury," Subhankulov said.

As a reminder, the rematch between Usyk and Fury will take place on December 21. In the first fight , Oleksandr defeated Tyson by split decision - 114:113, 113:114, 115:112 - and became the absolute world heavyweight champion.

A month after the fight, on May 18, the Ukrainian was forced to give up the International Boxing Federation (IBF) belt, which was defended by Daniel Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs) on September 21, brutally knocking out Anthony Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs).

Before that, Oleksandr spoke categorically about what would happen if Tyson tried to disrupt the rematch. He also shared his expectations for the second fight with Fury and responded to accusations of cheating during the May 18 fight. In addition, Alexander told what he learned from this fight.

The legendary Volodymyr Klitschko shared his expectations for the rematch between Usyk and Fury. And ex-champion Amir Khan disagreed with the forecasts for the boxers' second fight. In addition, Russian Alexander Povetkin attributed the success of our compatriot to Russia.

In turn, Russian boxing coach Andrei Ivichuk called Tyson the winner of the upcoming rematch with Oleksandr. And the Ukrainian named the only boxer he is interested in fighting after the second fight with the Briton.
