Legendary Czech goalkeeper Dominik Hašek made a statement on social media

The legendary Czech goalkeeper Dominik Hašek spoke emotionally about the tragedy in Odesa. On March 15, the Russian occupiers attacked the city with Iskander missiles.

The Nagano 98 Olympic champion blamed all those Russians who voted and continue to vote for the Kremlin dictator for what happened. On his X (formerly Twitter) account, the 59-year-old Czech posted a link to a local media article about the shelling of the Ukrainian city.

"Every Russian who votes for Putin in this election has supported Russia's aggressive war in Ukraine and horrific Russian crimes like the one below. And at the same time, he supported the murder of his fellow citizens in this Russian imperialist war. Glory to Ukraine!" wrote Hašek.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, 21 people were killed by two rockets in Odesa, including a paramedic and a rescuer who were working at the scene of one of the explosions. More than 75 people were injured.

It is worth noting that the Czech ex-goalkeeper has been a vocal supporter of Ukraine. After a trip to Kyiv and Kharkiv last summer, he recorded a video message to Ukrainians, wishing them to "drive away the Russian sh*t." In addition, Olympic champion Vyacheslav Fetisov threw a real tantrum over the Czech's remarks.

Earlier, Dominik said that Russians have no right to play in international tournaments "until they leave Ukraine and put Putin on trial". He also demanded that Russia pay reparations to our country.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, Dominik Hašek was accused of hypocrisy after taking part in the opening ceremony of an NHL game. In response, the former goaltender apologized for this step and called it a mistake.
