Karaarslan is a referee in Turkey's lower league. She started her football career at Libadi Sports Club and later played for Bakirkiyi Gençlikspor and Beşiktaş.
Elif ended her football career after a serious injury. At the age of 16, while playing for Beşiktaş, she suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament.
During this period, she was impressed by a foreign female referee she saw on social media and decided to follow in her footsteps. To do this, Elifa graduated from the Faculty of Sports Sciences at the University of Marmara.
