Tightening air defense and other capabilities of the AFU: the Pentagon named the priorities of the upcoming meeting in the "Ramstein" format
As early as Thursday, June 15, the 13th meeting of the Contact Group on Ukrainian Defense in the "Ramstein" format will be held in Brussels. Its priorities will be the strengthening of our country's air defence.
The defense ministers of the partner countries will also talk about the provision of other needs of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. This was reported on the Pentagon website on June 14.
"The meeting will focus on strengthening Ukraine's air defense and other priority capabilities in the near term, as well as exercises and support to enhance Ukraine's strength in the long term," the statement said.
U.S. Defense Minister Lloyd Austin held a telephone conversation with Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov on the eve of the new Ramstein.
Austin talked about Ukraine's security support, in particular the $325 million additional military aid package announced the day before. And Reznikov told his colleague about the situation at the front lines, where fierce fighting between the AFU and the Russian occupiers continues.
"Both leaders pledged to maintain close contact," the Pentagon added.
As OBOZREVATEL reported:
