The British company BBC has presented a trailer for a series about the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy called The Zelenskyy Story. The show will tell the story of the politician's journey from comedian to head of state. The film is directed by Michael Waldman, known for his films about Elon Musk, Donald Trump, and Rupert Murdoch.

The Zelenskyy Story, created by 72 Films, will be released on September 4 and will consist of three episodes. The trailer shows fragments of interviews with President and First Lady Olena Zelenska, which were filmed during the director's trips to Ukraine, the BBC reports.

In addition to interviews with the family and their inner circle, the series includes comments from Boris Johnson, Nancy Pelosi, former British Secretary of Defense Ben Wallace, and advisor to the President of Ukraine Mykhailo Podoliak.

The most difficult part for the filmmaker was the journey to Ukraine. Waldman and the cameraman got to Warsaw, from where they transported all the necessary equipment by train across the Polish-Ukrainian border. The director also recalled waking up to air raid alarms while in Kyiv.

"Before the project started, I didn't know that he was not only a successful manager, but also an artist. He created a whole business, which he managed from the very beginning - he brought it to the opening of offices in Moscow, and then, after the Maidan revolution and the invasion of Crimea in 2014, he closed the entire Russian campaign," Michael said. The filmmaker also shared an unexpected phrase of Olena Zelenska that she said during the filming. "I never said it out loud, but I had a faint hope that he would not win the election," the first lady of Ukraine admitted.
