The West should not delay in providing funds for Ukraine and confiscating Russian assets: Zelensky warns of a crisis

Zelensky called for the use of frozen Russian assets for the benefit of Ukraine

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky would not advise the United States and the European Union to experiment with delaying aid to repel Russian aggression. A global crisis could begin worldwide.

"To be honest, I would not advise everyone to experiment, because it is a terrible experiment to delay this or that assistance. The problem is that we even sometimes call 'aid' aid because not everyone, unfortunately, realizes that it is not only for Ukraine's security. Yes, for the majority of Ukrainian people. But it is also the security of the European continent, which will have an impact, of course, on the security of all continents. And it already does," the President said at a meeting with the International Media Council in Davos.

The guarantor added that Ukraine may be weakened on the battlefield, and there may be a large shortage of artillery. "We will have a very large deficit in air defense. This means that we will not be able to repel attacks with ballistic missiles. So, there will be a large number of casualties and a large number of wounded people," he said.

Frozen Russian assets, if confiscated, will be used to rebuild Ukraine. The funds will not be used for military purposes, the head of state assured.

The President also noted that "you cannot divide money into state Russian money and private money." He added that if the world has this $300 billion, "why not use it?"

It will not be used for military purposes. In particular, it will be used to restore schools, shelters, hospitals, universities, churches, etc.

"Because these representatives of the private sector pay taxes. And they officially support the war. Because the list of these people is under sanctions. There is a list because they have dual citizenship or have some real estate abroad - in Europe, France, England, the United States," the head of state summarized.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, the President of the United States of America, Joe Biden, plans to meet with members of both houses of Congress on Wednesday, January 17. The event will take place at the White House, where the American leader will discuss with congressmen the importance of approving his funding request, including $60 billion in aid to Ukraine.
