Kyiv athlete Kateryna Shipunova won the IFBB World Bodybuilding and Fitness Cup in Santa Susana, Spain. Our compatriot took first place in the body fitness category among athletes over 168 cm tall.

"Her victory is a great achievement for the Ukrainian national team and proof of the high level of training of our athletes," the official website of the Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation of Ukraine says.

On her Instagram account, Kateryna admitted that she decided to change her category from bikini to bodyfitness only three weeks before the competition, which at first seemed like an "impossible adventure." After the Arnold classic competition, she remembered the words of her posing coach that she should either try herself in the body fitness category or not go on stage at all.

Internally, she didn't feel like she belonged in the bikini category, despite her affection for it in all aspects, except for the pose, which she couldn't do. This pose did not convey her inner state, and she felt inharmonious, which is why she could not show the maximum result.

She felt much more comfortable in body fitness. She felt in her place, able to train to her full potential and enjoy the process.
