OBOZ.UA asked professional makeup artists for advice on how to wear makeup in summer. They gave four key tips that will help you look great on the beach, in the city, and at a summer party in the open air.

Prepare the skin properly

Applying primer in the summer becomes extremely important, especially if you know that makeup doesn't stay on your face well in the heat. Choose the right product for your skin type. If you're prone to acne, an oil-free formula will do, and for dry skin, it's better to use moisturizing primers containing hyaluronic acid. And don't forget to apply a cream with a high SPF under the primer. In summer, you can't ignore sun protection.

Choose lighter textures

Nothing will peel off if you do not apply anything. It's a fact that's hard to argue with. But if you're not ready to give up makeup in the summer, switch to lighter formulas and products with less coverage. Prefer a tinted moisturizer or simply mask skin nuances with a thick concealer and avoid full coverage. Follow the principle of "less is more" by choosing products that can be used for different purposes. For example, a cream blush can be used in both lip and eye makeup at the same time. In summer, it's better to stick to a natural look and choose light textures.

Give up powder

If you've been relying on powder to help remove excess oil from your skin and make your face look more matte, consider giving it up altogether. Although powder can mattify your skin in the short term, the more you apply it, the stickier it can become, especially if you sweat a lot. In summer, it's best to have special matting wipes in your makeup bag. The paper they are made of will absorb excess oil without affecting your makeup. Just blot the skin with a napkin, no additional steps are required.

Take care of fixing

In summer, proper makeup fixing becomes especially important. A carefully selected spray is a good choice. Spray it on your face after you finish applying makeup and wait until the product is completely dry. Or choose a setting powder and apply it in a thin layer over the finished makeup. They will help you look great even on a very hot day.
