Greens such as lettuce, arugula, dill, parsley, cilantro, spinach, and sorrel are ideal choices for beginners. They are not only healthy but also easy to care for. The main requirement for growing herbs is loose soil without weeds. To prepare the bed, it is important to dig up the ground in advance and remove all unwanted plants. You can cover the area with black agrofiber for a month or two to suppress weed growth. After that, the greens will germinate faster than them, so they can be easily mulched.

Radish

Radishes are an ideal choice for beginners. It grows very quickly and does not require any special care.

If you don't have time to prepare the soil, try sowing radishes in egg trays by filling them with soil and sowing one seed in each cell. Then you can dig them into the ground. This approach will protect the radishes from weeds, but at the same time, the crop will develop just as well as in the open field.
