The WBC world champion in the second lightest weight (up to 52.2 kg), Mexican Juan Francisco Estrada (44-4, 28 KOs), lost to undefeated American Jesse Rodriguez (20-0, 13 KOs). The main event of the Matchroom boxing night in Phoenix (USA) ended early.

The challenger seized the initiative from the first minutes, successfully working with uppercuts and confusing his opponent with angles. Rodriguez concentrated on body punches. In the 4th round, the American delivered an uppercut and then added a straight left punch, knocking him down.

The champion was visibly off the track but managed to recover and stage a great 6th round, putting the challenger on the canvas. Rodriguez missed a cross, after which the referee canceled the knockdown.

The denouement came in the 7th three minutes when Jesse knocked out his opponent with a body shot.
