"They are to blame": Zinchenko laconically described the failure of the Ukrainian national team at Euro 2024
Ukrainian national team defender Oleksandr Zinchenko has declared the national team's performance at the 2024 European Championships in Germany a failure. The London Arsenal footballer emphasized that the Blue and Yellows can only blame themselves for the early departure.
Zinchenko wrote about this on his Instagram page. The 27-year-old all-rounder also thanked the fans for their support and faith in the team until the final scorecard of the decisive match of the continental championship group tournament against Belgium.
"It's a shame. It's our fault. I thank everyone who supported us throughout and believed in us to the end," Zinchenko said.
Earlier, the Ukrainians' performance at Euro 2024 was summarized by the team's head coach Serhii Rebrov. It will be recalled that in Group E, all four teams scored the same number of points for the first time in the history of the European Championships. As a result, Ukraine turned out to be superfluous in terms of goal difference and became the first team to fail to reach the playoffs with four points after the Euro expansion.
