It doesn't fit in my head: France qualifies for Euro 2024 playoffs without scoring a single goal

The French vice world champions have made an absolutely incredible achievement at the continental football championship, which is taking place these days at German stadiums. The players of the "Gallic Roosters" reached the Euro 2024 playoffs ahead of schedule without scoring a single goal.

Didier Deschamps' team has four points in Group D after a narrow victory over Austria and a zero-all draw with the Netherlands. At the same time, in the opening match against Ralph Rangnick's wards, the Tricolors won thanks to an own goal by opposing defender Maximilian Weber.

After Spain defeated Albania in Group B and Italy snatched a draw against Croatia, the French secured a playoff spot. This is the first time in the history of major national team tournaments that a team has advanced from a group without scoring a goal, according to the Stats Foot X/Twitter page.

On the final game day of the group stage, the French national team will play against Poland, which was the first among all Euro 2024 participants to be eliminated from the tournament. The game will take place on June 25 and will start at 19:00 Kyiv time.
