How old Britney Spears' sons are, where they are now and how the singer's nude photos affected their relationship

The world-famous American singer Britney Spears has always dreamed of having a strong and happy family. In her memoir The Woman in Me, to be published on October 24, the pop icon described how much she loves her two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James. However, nowadays the boys are not as close to their star mom as they were in childhood. They live with their father Kevin Federline in Miami, but their relationship with Spears can be described as "ambiguous."

Scandalous details about the star's relationship with her sons often appeared in the press. Federline also added fuel to the fire, saying in June last year that the boys allegedly did not want to communicate with their mother because of her provocative content on social media and her "drug addiction." OBOZ.UA decided to find out how old the heirs of the iconic singer are now and what they do.

Sean and Jaden are now 18 and 17 years old, respectively. The star mom rarely shares photos of her sons. She explains that they are now at an age when "the search for identity is still ongoing," so she doesn't want to draw too much attention to them.

Earlier this year, Spears did reveal a rare photo of herself with her visibly grown children, captioning it: "I'm extremely lucky because my two children are such gentlemen and so kind that I must have done something right."

Sean and Jaden spend most of their time with their father after their mother was granted 30% unsupervised visitation rights in September 2019.

On October 6, 2021, family friend Eddie Morales posted a photo with the boys, calling them his "nephews." Fans couldn't believe how old they looked.

Last June, the interest of fans and the press in Britney's relationship with her sons increased. In particular, because the boys did not attend their mother's wedding to fitness trainer Sam Asgari, who is 12 years younger than her.

Kevin Federline intervened in the conflict, stating that his sons allegedly deliberately avoided meeting the singer because they condemned her for her Instagram content . It was about strange nude photos of Spears in which she covered her intimate parts with emoticons.

Spears' ex-husband commented at the time: "I'm trying to explain to my sons: "Look, maybe this is just another way she's trying to express herself." But that doesn't change the fact that she's doing this to them. It's hard. I can't imagine what it's like to be a teenager who has to go to high school when your mom does this."

At the time, Britney reacted very emotionally to the accusations and said that her ex was deliberately raising their children in an atmosphere of hatred towards her. She assured me that she had felt this attitude long before her naked photos began to appear on her social media. Instead, Federline released archival videos of the artist raising her voice at children and screaming at them to respect their mother.

"You all better start respecting me, okay? You all have to start treating me like a decent woman. I am a woman, okay? Be nice to me. Do you understand?" the singer emotionally demanded in the recording.

Amidst the scandal, Sean and Jaden themselves made a statement that they did not hate their mother, and did not attend the wedding because the star did not invite other relatives. Presumably, the boys wanted their mother to invite their father to the wedding, but Spears never did.

The younger son even expressed hope that his relationship with his mother would  will soon be as warm as it once was. He addressed Spears: "I love you very much. I hope for the best for you. Maybe one day we can sit down like this and talk again."

 A new scandal  has broken out in June of this year,. Kevin Federline said that the pop icon was allegedly hooked on hard drugs. He expressed his concern that his ex-lover was at risk of repeating the fate of her famous colleague Amy Winehouse, who died of an overdose at the age of 27. Moreover, according to Federline, her children are also worried about Spears' condition, as they are allegedly also convinced of their mother's drug addiction. He said that his sons saw with their own eyes how the singer bought methamphetamine, and therefore do not want to communicate with her. Spears was outraged by such statements and assured that all this was a blatant lie.

Now it is reported that the ice between the scandalous star mom and her sons is gradually melting. The boys are slowly but surely moving towards the singer, and she is doing everything possible to be closer to her children finally.

Britney became a mother at the age of 24, giving birth to Sean on September 14, 2005 and Jayden a year later, on September 12, 2006. She asked her husband for a divorce  two months after giving birth,. After getting married with a fitness trainer Sam Asgari, the singer was preparing for her third motherhood, but she ended up having a micsarriage.

Recently, it turned out that Britney Spears could have become a mother at the age of 19. She got pregnant with her colleague Justin Timberlake, whom she dated in 1999-2002. The singer was not happy about the news of the possible addition, as he thought him and Spears were too young to start a family, which is why the singer had an abortion.
