Pickled mackerel for the Easter table: the recipe for the most successful marinade

Mackerel is one of the most budget-friendly and healthy fish that can be baked, salted, and pickled. It is especially delicious with onions and spicy marinade.

Food blogger Ekaterina Movchan(katarina_movchan) on her Instagram page shared a recipe for a delicious and spicy marinade with spices for mackerel.

Mackerel marinade recipe

Ingredients:

  • mackerel - 2 pcs.
  • water - 120 ml
  • coarse sea salt - 9 tbsp.
  • bay leaves - 12 units
  • peppercorns - 15 pcs.
  • black pepper peas - 1,5 tsp.
  • cloves - 6 pcs.

Cooking method:

1. To prepare the brine you need to mix water and all the necessary spices. Put everything on the fire, bring to a boil and cook for 3-4 minutes. After that, remove from the fire and leave to cool.

2. In the meantime, prepare the fish, namely, clean it from the insides and wash well.

3. Place the cooked fish in a container and pour the cold marinade over it. Close with the lid and leave in the refrigerator for 24 hours.

Important: You can store such pickled mackerel for 6 days.
