What to cook with beets, except borscht and "Shuba": a variant of an easy snack

The budget beets, we always use for borscht or "Shuba" can be a great base for a gourmet appetizer. For example, caprese salad. The traditional version uses tomatoes. But if you replace them - you get a new wonderful taste.

The idea of making caprese from beets is published on the page of food blogger Miroslava Pekariuk(myroslava_pekariuk) on Instagram. The vegetable goes perfectly with the cheese mixture.

 

Ingredients:

  • beets - 1 pc
  • sour cream cheese - 100 g
  • Philadelphia - 100 g
  • green onion
  • mixed salad
  • pumpkin seeds (fried)
  • salt
  • pepper

Method of preparation:

 

 

1. Cut the beets into thin slices, drizzle with oil, salt them a little, and grill them (you can boil the beets or bake them in the oven).

 

2. Philadelphia mix with sour milk cheese, add finely chopped green onions, a little dried garlic, salt, pepper and mix everything until smooth.

 

3. Place the mixed salad on a plate and drizzle with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

 

 

4. Spread the curd mixture on the beet slices and place them on the salad mix.
