How to clean plastic food containers

Plastic containers are convenient containers for storing various foods. Thus, odors do not spread throughout the kitchen or refrigerator, and food does not "weather".

However, food plastic used to make the containers is difficult to clean from stubborn dirt, grease, and unpleasant odors. OBOZREVATEL has found effective ways to deal with this.

Baking soda

Containers can turn yellow over time or develop a gray coating from the bright spices in which the food was cooked or from foods with a rich pigment. Even though the container is still usable, it no longer looks attractive. To get rid of this, you can make a solution from baking soda.

Pour enough water into a bowl to cover the containers. Add two tablespoons of baking soda per liter of liquid. Mix everything thoroughly and leave the plastic containers in the solution for 30-45 minutes. Then rinse under running water and the containers are ready to use again.

If stains remain, soak a clean kitchen towel in the baking soda solution and wrap it around the container. Leave it on for 30 minutes and rinse with water.

Vinegar

White vinegar will help remove old dirt and get rid of unpleasant odors. To do this, pour warm water into a bowl to cover the containers and add 3-4 tablespoons of vinegar. Leave it for half an hour.

You can also pour the solution inside the container and cover it with a lid. Then rinse the dishes thoroughly with water.
