According to recent studies, daily consumption of 100% fruit juice is directly related to weight gain, both in adults and children.
In an interview with CNN, co-author and leading nutrition researcher Dr. Walter Willett, professor of epidemiology and nutrition at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School in Boston, said.
According to him, the main reason for weight gain as a result of drinking 100% juice is the amount of fruit consumed. Juice is very easy to overdose on. For example, one glass of natural orange juice contains about three fruits. A glass is drunk within a minute, and after a certain time, you can drink more. Thus, the level of sugar in the body will increase significantly, and a lot of calories will be consumed.
As a result, the body will develop insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome. This, in turn, will lead to diabetes, obesity, and many problems with the cardiovascular system.
