Vorschmack is a popular Odesa appetizer made from herring. And in addition to the classic ingredients, such as eggs, onions, and butter, don't forget to add an apple. The dish will have a wonderful juicy taste.
The idea of making a delicate vorschmack with an apple was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Iryna Kharchyshina (irisha_redko). It is delicious served on black bread.
Ingredients:
- herring - 2 fillets
- egg - 1 pc
- green apple - 1/2 cup
- onion 1/2 pc + apple cider vinegar 1-2 tbsp
- butter - 30 g
- salt, lemon juice for flavor
- black bread
Method of preparation:
1. Finely chop the herring with a knife, the smaller the better, you can also pass it through a meat grinder, but it tastes better sliced.
2. Add the grated boiled egg, grated apple, peeled.
3. Add the butter and the marinated finely chopped onion.
4. Season with pepper, lemon juice and stir.
5. Toast the black bread.
6. Put the vorschmack on it.
