Tiramisu in the form of a roll: how to cook a traditional dessert in a new way

The classic Tiramisu can be made much easier and more budget-friendly, namely in the form of a roll. You don't need special savoyardi sticks - instead, you'll use a regular sponge cake, which you'll make very quickly.
The idea of making a sweet Tiramisu roll was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Victoriia Panasiuk (viktoria.panasiuk). It turns out very impressive and tasty.
Ingredients:
- 4 eggs
- 110 g of sugar
- 10 g of vanilla sugar
- a pinch of salt
- 130 g of flour
- 10 g of potato starch
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 50 ml. warm milk
Ingredients for the impregnation:
- 2 tsp. coffee
- 200 ml of water
- 1 tbsp. of rum
Ingredients for the cream:
- 200 ml. cream
- 250 g. mascarpone
- 50 g. powdered sugar
Method of preparation:
1. Add sugar, vanilla sugar, salt to the eggs and beat very well until lightened and increased in volume.
2. Combine the flour with the baking powder and starch and sift into the egg mixture.
3. Add half of the milk, stir gently with the spatula from the bottom/up.
4. Pour in the remaining milk and spread the dough on a baking sheet covered with parchment.
5. Put in a preheated 180-degree oven for 12-15 minutes until slightly browned. The main thing here is not to overdry.
6. Cover the still hot sponge cake with parchment in contact. Cool in this form, remove the parchment from 2 sides and cut the edges of the sponge cake.
7. Beat the chilled cream until soft peaks, gradually adding the icing sugar.
8. Add the mascarpone and mix until smooth, no need to whisk to prevent the cream from splitting.
9. Separate a part of the cream for decoration.
10. Spread most of the cream evenly over the sponge cake and, using pens and parchment, roll it up. Wrap it again in parchment and refrigerate overnight (at least 8 hours).
11. Decorate the cooled roll and sprinkle with cocoa powder.
