Grandma's and mom's dumplings are always the most delicious. They are made with love and special care. And the secrets that housewives use to prepare the dish are always passed down from generation to generation.
Famous Ukrainian chef Volodymyr Yaroslavskyi (yaroslavskyi_vova) shared the recipe for his grandmother's dumplings on his Instagram page. The man cooked the dish together with his mother.
Ingredients for the dough:
- 300 ml of kefir
- 480-530 g of flour
- 8 g of baking soda
- a pinch of salt
Ingredients for the filling:
- 1 pack of cottage cheese
- 1 small egg or yolk
- 50 g sugar (2 tbsp)
Method of preparation:
1. For the dough, you need to make the kefir sour, even if it has already been in the fridge. Add salt and baking soda to the kefir, mix quickly, add flour and knead the dough.
2. Roll the dough into a roller, adding a little flour.
3. Cut into small "pucks".
4. Flatten with your hands to form a flat rounded product.
5. Fill it with the filling and roll it up, sealing the edges well. The dough should not be too thin.
6. Steam under the bowl for 5 minutes.
7. Put the finished dumplings in a dish, and brush with butter.
8. Serve with sour cream.
